The Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (CGCSA) is the premier membership NPO (non-profit organisation) representing the interests of more than 12, 000 member companies engaged in the manufacture, retail, wholesale and distribution of consumer goods, which has a combined value of R707 billion (Retail trade sales, December 2014 – STATSA).

The CGCSA facilitates stakeholders’ engagement on risk, safety, compliance and sustainable issues across the consumer goods value chain; as well as championing advocacy projects transparently to all members since 2002.

CGCSA has since inception been a notable representative body of the entire consumer industry representing its members interests on industry concerns to the government, regional collaborative platforms and key strategic partners and alliances.

We are governed by our Board of Directors, which are drawn from industry captains across the Consumer Goods sector.
