CGCSA, Economic and Legislative Department – Leading the industry in the development of an Industry Code in alignment with the Consumer Protection Act
The Consumer Protection Act was promulgated on the 24th April 2009 and will come into effect on the 24th October 2010. Consumer Goods Council of South Africa, (CGCSA) has been actively involved in participating, facilitating and engaging with industry with regards to aligning themselves with the provisions of the Act before the law comes into full effect.

Dr Lucia Anelich travelled to Uruguay from 27th September to 16th October to participate in the ICMSF annual meeting, and COLMIC conference in Punta del Este, where she was invited to speak at this prestigious event. The subject of her presentation was “Food Safety Management in Developing Countries: South Africa and SADC”.

All the members of ICMSF are doctors and professors and are recognised experts in their various countries and internationally. Lucia is the only South African ever to have been invited to join the ICMSF.
